I love people who make me laugh.  I honestly think it’s the thing I like most, to laugh.  It cures a multitude of ills.  It’s probably the most important thing in a person.

What’s in your next chapter?!

Share

annika-sorenstam-pregnantHave you ever thought about changing gears?   We continually strive for more – playing at the top of our game, being the best we can be, striving to get to the top.    We want to sell more, make more,  do more, be more.   And not just in our careers.   We go out  and break 90 on the golf course,  and return the next day to try to break 85.    We had $10M in Sales in 2009 — and shoot for $15M in 2010.

It’s contagious.  The more we achieve, the more we want to achieve.

So how do you define ‘retirement’?   I call it ‘betterment’.    Changing gears allowing  us to do something that perhaps we hadn’t before considered.  Along the lines of the ‘Blue Ocean’ theory.   Retirement doesn’t have to mean stopping.   In fact, I like to think of it as starting.   Bettering.  Growing in a new direction.   Creating new opportunities.

Forbes Magazine put together this list of pro-athletes who retired in their prime.     Each still a legend and each taking the opportunity to grow in a new direction.    Works for me.

What’s in your next chapter?   Worth thinking about.  Have a look …

Bobby Jones: Five time winner of the US Amateur,  4- time winner of the US Open and winner of 3 British Opens, Bobby retired at age 28.   He remains the only golfer ever to win all four major championships in the same year, the famous “Grand Slam of Golf.”   Bobby went on to design the Augusta National Course with Alistair MacKensie.

Jim Brown: Best known for his record setting nine-year football career as a running back for the Cleveland Browns.  He was named by The Sporting News as the greatest professional football player ever.  He later went on to become a successful actor. Read the rest of this entry »

63Luxury in every word….

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

May God be with you and bless you:
May you see your children’s children.
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home
And may the hand of a friend always be near.

May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.

Cars Classic …. we are what we drive!

Share

A man’s home is his castle…. a woman’s car is her passion!!!     What does the car you drive say about you….?!

Please take note ….    a recent study states that your ‘ride’ says more about you than you can even imagine.   That’s right … your car is talking to the opposite sex, whether you like it or not.

A woman driving a Jaguar XF is a lover of luxury … single or married.    A man valet parking his Porsche 911 at the Ritz is a determined, highly successful middle aged professional.  The BMX Z3 is a very smooth car, and it’s owner is a very smooth guy.

Our ‘ride’ is a window into our soul.   Education, tech smarts and wealth are just a few traits that one’s car can portray.  Are you racy or outdoorsy,  sleek or determined?  Attributes of our car mirror our self-image.  Those with a strong sense of self,  those with discerning tastes  and those who are willing to stand out in a crowd will reflect these things in the color, style and speed of the wheels they choose.

US News and World Report recently ranked  the worlds ’sexiest’ cars.    Believe it or not, the Chevy Corvette outranked the Lotus Elite and Porsche Cayman.    As an owner of a Porsche 356A cabriolet,  I am very biased toward the classic and chic … and perhaps the sexiness appeals as well.   Hmmmm…  Telling, isn’t it?!

Stageing … yesterday’s staging becomes today’s ‘STAGE-ING’!!!

Share YouTube Preview Image

Fresh flowers, the smell of freshly baked bread, soft music,  uncluttered spaces and clean, clean, CLEAN!    We all have learned that a home in ’showroom’ condition sells ~ and enticingly staged vignettes can create a ‘vibe’ that allows the buyer to see himself living in and enjoying the luxuries of the home.

It’s easy to understand.  The goal of home staging is to improve the home’s appearance in the eyes of potential buyers, with the ultimate goal of selling the home more quickly and for the highest possible price.   Staging appeals to the five senses ~ sight, smell, sound, taste and touch.   The more  inviting and attractive the space is, the greater the tug at the potential buyer’s emotion.

Well, step aside former stagers.   The Sunset Vine Tower in Hollywood, Los Angeles, has brought home staging to a new level.  Setting the ’stage’  in one of it’s 63 residences with 180 degree views of Hollywood,  this debut evening included music, candlelight, champagne and …  a live model basking in the jacuzzi tub.  You read that right … a LIVE model, bubbles, candlelight and all!

Only in LA?    I think this new trend has international appeal, not to mention a bit of sex appeal.   Trend setting in my view.  Hat’s off  ~ and more? ~  to you  Sunset Vine Tower!!
